We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced Welders to join our growing Steel team. Qualified candidates must be capable of understanding and following complex drawings and instructions.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Welding structural steel parts as specified per drawings and marked up weld symbols
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Obtain and maintain the required welding certification(s)
  • Assure the structural components are welded correctly with a visual inspection
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, air arc, grinder and magnetic drill and any other required tools of the trade
  • Communicate up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness
  • Assure work is completed in a safe manner while following all required safety policies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to, cleaning, trash scrap removal, and other production-related jobs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience operating overhead cranes
  • Prior welding experience
  • D1.1 2G/3G Certification preferred
  • Must be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed

Fitter/Fabricator

Fitter / Fabricator

Description

We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Fitters / Fabricators to join our growing Steel team. The Structural Steel Fitters / Fabricators will fit and assemble structural framework, components, and materials such as angle iron, plates, WF sections, and other steel shapes and components.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lay outs, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications
  • Safely operate overhead cranes
  • Properly fit mill to bear parts such as stiffeners, base plates, and other components
  • Operate cutting and heating torches
  • Accurately perform complex heat corrections
  • Check camber, sweep tolerances of beams and other steel shapes
  • Effectively make necessary corrections per pertinent codes and specifications, with no supervision
  • Perform heat corrections while adhering to procedures with no supervision
  • Produce finished product that meets recognized standards, codes, and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and practices
  • Set up complex jigs or assemblies
  • Identify potential hazards and make necessary corrections
  • Interpret complex documents including blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to look at weld symbols and properly prep joints per WPS standards
  • Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of the area
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to, cleaning, trash scrap removal, and other production-related jobs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Superior level layout and math skills
  • Complete understanding of pre-heat functions
  • Ability to set up and use a track torch is required
  • Must pass all tack test F.A.C.W. (Flux Core)
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
  • Works in compliance with Kinsley’s safety policies and procedures

Business Development Representative

Business Development Representative

Description
The Business Development Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining client relations and project leads through cold calls, emails, marketing campaigns, presentation and outreach events to expand our sales in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL

  • Develop a personal business development plan based on the Kinsley core values and culture
  • Implement the Kinsley business development goals and strategies and assist in the development of 1-year, 3-year and 5-year Business Development Plans; take full ownership of execution, track progress and report result to the Director of Business Development and Project Executive
  • Review qualified potential leads with Director of Business Development and Project Executive to determine if potential leads should be pursued
  • Maintain a database of all pertinent customer contacts, potential leads, opportunities, and High Priority Target (HPT) clients, maintain BD activity matrix, and track phone conversations and sales calls using the Kinsley CRM software
  • Maintain periodic contact with clients throughout the project in collaboration with the Project Executive as well as follow-up with client maintenance after completion of project to ensure client satisfaction and for nurturing future opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, real estate brokers and other “champions” to promote Kinsley and develop future opportunities
  • Coordinate business networking events for BD opportunities
  • Actively participate in professional organizations and/or non-profit boards to expand network contact and community development
  • Market Kinsley Construction Steel Division throughout the region of operation with emphasis on projects matching the Business Plans targeted markets
  • Develop full understanding of Kinsley’s capabilities as well as the qualifications of our personnel to ensure that market opportunities can be identified
  • Communicate and collaborate with other members of the Business Development team and the Marketing team to ensure a cohesive and professional marketing program
  • Educate Kinsley employees of their business development responsibilities and reinforce their role in client communications
  • Develop, in conjunction with the marketing department, marketing presentations and documents differentiating the Kinsley competitive advantages for targeted and general marketing purposes
  • Assist the Kinsley project team of Project Executives, Pre-construction Specialists, Estimators, Project Managers, and operations personnel in developing technical proposals and marketing material for presentations on specific projects
  • Assist Kinsley Estimating Staff with Budgeting and Estimates
  • Assist with details related to presentations including, but not limited to, meeting space needs, IT requirements, determining number and names of client representatives scheduled to attend, applicable handouts and/or “leave behind” materials
  • Attend BD strategy meetings
  • Develop and maintain data on Kinsley’s competitor information and strengths/weaknesses

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Proven success in business development or sales required
  • Motivated to succeed and grow professionally
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with all personnel within the organization and facilitate communication effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be a team player, flexible, and able to work in fast paced and changing environment

Material Handler, Richmond, VA

Description
Kinsley is seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our growing shop in Richmond, VA. Qualified candidates must have experience with overhead crane, operating a forklift and have a willingness to learn.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL

  • Operate forklift as needed
  • Perform rigging work including jacking and staking
  • Load and unload steel from trucks
  • Load steel to transfer tables to feed production line
  • Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have experience with overhead crane
  • Experience using and operation a forklift is required
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
  • Works in compliance with Kinsley’s safety policies and procedures
  • Must be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed
  • Basic math skills are required
  • Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment
  • Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours
